Hey just wondering if you were still looking for composers? This is something I whipped up this morning to fit your trailer; not sure if this is the genre you were looking for but feedback would be well appreciated! Best of luck with the project I think it's ace.
This was pretty cool to play. I had wondered if anyone would create something like this when I saw the interview with that Nintendo Designer that worked to create the original prototype. So very nice work. Though you could make it a little simpler to get started for those of us that didn't play much of the original.
Hey winterdrake, first off I want to tell you that I absolutly love the game so far and am very much looking forward to more, I just have a question so I know that I am not missing anything, when you get to the part with the pigs that fire arrows at you is there any way to get south of that rock wall or is that just not in the demo?
Hi! Are you searching for a translator?? I can translate to Spanish. I'm from Spain. I don't need any money if you think so xD. Thanks if you read this :D
Very well done! Would you be willing to upload the GameMaker source or create some sort of tutorial to assist aspiring young game developers to get that original Zelda feel? (I mean the character movement, enemy AI, etc.) Thanks
The intention was to cook items by dropping them on the ground and then using your sword to knock them through the fire. People aren't always getting this, so for ease of use I'm making it so that all food items dropped within a one tile radius of a fire will get cooked 😊
You should make the resources a separate pack so you can swap them out. So when Nintendo tells you to change how the thing look we can just apply the old resouce pack to make it look like this again.
You can use wine and winebottler to allow your mac to run it. It's really simple. So first you have to download wine and winebottler. Then you have to right click on the exe file, open with, wine. Next a window should pop up and you should click Convert to simple OS X file using winebottler or something like that. Then a menu should pop up with a lot of overwhelming settings. Where it says the file name, you will see 3 options below it. Click the second option which I think says, This is the app, and something other thing. Next click install. This might take a while. When it finishes, launch it. A window might pop up a bit later saying that something has to update. If it doesn't work, try again. I did the same thing 3 times and it didn't work. Then I tried it again and it worked. Sorry if this didn't help.
There is nothing wrong with the website. I would like to see the code go open-source. I think it would be beneficial for developers to learn from this. This is a solid piece of work. Additionally, I would love to contribute to the code base and perhaps fork my own version.
It might not be such a bad idea to open source the game, to be honest. It could allow for more frequent updates (with the help of the community) as well as allowing other developers to build off your code and, for example, port it to other OS/systems (I saw 2 comments already asking for a 3DS file version and an Android app)
I've haven't upload a lot of pixel art on the web but you can find some of them here : http://bxd108.deviantart.com/gallery/ my mail : wisconsinhorseradish@gmail.com
Winterdrake, if you need someone for story writing let me know. I am an English professor who writes fantasy stories on the side and have been published. Thank you!
Hello! I would love to help with the development of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2D. I am a Web programmer and currently working with Unity 5.5 on a 2D project as well. If you can contact me ok Greetings.
Hola! Me encantaria ayudar con el desarrollo de The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2D. Soy programador Web y actualmente trabajando con Unity 5.5 en un proyecto 2D tambien. Si tal me puedes comntactar ok. saludos.
This. Is. Beautiful. You've made such a wonderful project here, mate!! I hope you don't mind that i recorded a video of it for our channel, i truly adored the time i spent playing it (even though i didn't complete it in the video ;) )
i found out something cool some how with a camp fire you can make your wooden sword burn stuff every time you attack :O i wish i could record this i don't know how i got that to happen
Is there anything to do after you have 7 hearts, sword, axe, bow, hammer, quiver, sprint boots, flint, and korok leaf? I haven't found anywhere to go after that. Smashed every boulder, but haven't set fire to every tree yet.

shading adds a new real dimension to nes graphisms nice and well done!
Is there anyway you could port this android? I have been using my joycon on my android device for emulating old games since I only have a chromebook.
Android support will probably get done eventually!
Thanks a bunch, it looks incredible.
The public demo has awful optimisation. You should get a constant 60fps in the next version
when you cut down a tree and you faced at a wall the log will go through the wall
and also dont change the dropping system i like its simple

That's just an unfinished area, no way to get there!
i have a request.
how about you stack items instead of it taking all over your inventory?
it would be better.
Are you having issues with a full inventory in this version?
no, it's just unconfortamble to have the inventory full of food and you have to drop things to get another because you can't stack.
Hi! Are you searching for a translator?? I can translate to Spanish. I'm from Spain. I don't need any money if you think so xD. Thanks if you read this :D
i will definitely need help translating to Spanish, amigo 😀 that will be further in the future though
Thanks for reply so, bro! 😀
If you want help with Visual art I can help. Some of my work
That page is private.
Is this better sorry didn't know.
I love the demo already!
But could you increase the speed of Link a bit? I personally think it's a little slow..
I've improved performance in the next version, what fps are you getting?
I get around 25-35 fps
Also... If you need any help in the future translating into german.. I would be happy to help ;)
ive improved the optimization, in the next version you will get 60fps!! That should make everything feel faster :)
And later down the line I will need help translating to German, be sure to keep an eye on my Twitter! 😊
Very well done! Would you be willing to upload the GameMaker source or create some sort of tutorial to assist aspiring young game developers to get that original Zelda feel? (I mean the character movement, enemy AI, etc.) Thanks
explain why?
Oh, I understand what you mean now.
The intention was to cook items by dropping them on the ground and then using your sword to knock them through the fire. People aren't always getting this, so for ease of use I'm making it so that all food items dropped within a one tile radius of a fire will get cooked 😊
Joel from Vinesauce played your game!

Save function?
The demo is so short that I didn't bother programming one, I wanted to give people a challenge getting everything that's there!
Of course, the final game will have saving!
Great game but, aren't you afraid that Nintendo may try to ban it ?
If they ask me to stop using Zelda characters, I have some plans for original characters :) development will continue!
Could make a CIA file so that it works in 3ds which would make it very cool, but I do not think that happens
WHY IS IT NOT FOR MAC sorry didn't see caps on

what are the controls? am i missing something?
SO MUCH FUN FOR A DEMO
Would you mind possibly creating an app version for Android? Thanks!!!!! Bluetooth hid controllers would be cool on an app version!
this game is totally awsome but I have a question:does the game finish after getting the speed boot
Hi! I have an NES USB controller. Is there anyway to configure the controllers?
P.D. I love the game!
I will add remappable controller settings in the future! :D
Do you plan to release this project on GitHub?
Is there anything wrong with this website?
There is nothing wrong with the website. I would like to see the code go open-source. I think it would be beneficial for developers to learn from this. This is a solid piece of work. Additionally, I would love to contribute to the code base and perhaps fork my own version.
I suppose that would be nice but it does put a bit of a hole in my future plans of making a full release!

Still wondering if the lag is just my computer?
not at all, that first demo had bad optimization! It's fixed in the next demo I'm working on
Okay, that's actually really nice to know lol
This. Is. Beautiful.

if you swing your sword into a fire, it lights on fire for 7 seconds 😊
Is there anything to do after you have 7 hearts, sword, axe, bow, hammer, quiver, sprint boots, flint, and korok leaf? I haven't found anywhere to go after that. Smashed every boulder, but haven't set fire to every tree yet.
Okay, set fire to every tree (and patch of grass). Nothing new uncovered.
hey can you tell me where to get the hammer its the only thing i have left
wait nvm i found it
